By Jason Suarez

September 7, 2017

The rain came down at St. Anthony’s High School on Long Island but spirits were still high as runners took to the track to remember David Torrence at the 2017 HOKA Long Island Mile. Great Britain’s Chris O’Hare won the men’s race in 3:56.22 ahead of Olympic medalist Nick Willis of New Zealand. On the women’s side, Long Island’s own Emily Lipari won the race in 4:28.84 just .12 seconds in front of Brenda Martinez.
