The 2017 Millrose Games were held in Manhattan and American records fell. It was a busy and tiresome day but having one of the best seats to watch the world’s best athletes compete never gets old. This is a rare occasion that I worked with a team of photographers, which gave me the opportunity to get different angles and not just get the money shot every single time.

I never even attempted shooting the pole vault until Audra from USATF just gave me pointers on what to look for and why shooting from the front of the runway makes more sense than the back. I’ve covered several Millrose Games in the past and it was nice to come away learning something new. Check out some other shots here.
