Something In The Water – The Inferno

December 17, 2017

The success of the Speed River Inferno track meet is not normal.

The event got its start before professional track arrived in the city. It is not geographically close to any other high performance meets and the population base is obviously much smaller than Los Angeles or New York to draw spectators. Despite all that, the meet was able to grow. It eventually moved from just high school track and now brings in some of the biggest names in the sport and draw from a strong local support base.

There are not many meets like it and there’s no doubt that it’s been wildly positive for the Speed River team.

This episode of Something In The Water, we look at the anomaly of the Speed River Inferno.
