Citius Mag at the 2017 USATF Outdoor Championships

By Ryan Sterner

June 19, 2017

Hello Citwits,

I bet you’ve all been wondering whether or not we’ll be at USAs, pumping out premium content for our readers.

The short answer is: yes, we will be there. The long answer is that we saw the extended forecast and attempted to cancel our flights and hotel reservations. Our travel agent refused to reimburse us, so instead of eating our losses, we decided just to attend.

Here’s a breakdown of what you can expect daily from Citius Mag, starting with A DIGITAL EVENT PROGRAM. That’s right, on Wednesday we will be publishing our very own 2017 USAs Digital Zine that will contain everything you need to know for this week’s meet: event by event breakdowns and previews, exclusive content and photographs, and the unrivaled Citius Insight on who makes the team. Be sure to keep your eyes on the Twitter Wednesday and download your guide so you know exactly what’s going on.

Our newsletter subscribers will get access to the newsletter first so subscribe today!

Next, here’s the plan on the ground in Sacramento:

Daily Video Previews: Do you like us on Facebook? If not you should, because we’ll be broadcasting a short preview of can’t miss races each day as we make our way to the track. Keep an eye out for us on Periscope and Instagram Live if we decide to go on those routes.

Live Tweeting: Everyone’s favorite Tweeter, Paul Snyder, will be in the crowd, sweating through his pleats, greasing his keyboard with down-to-the-wire 140 character commentary.

Mixed Zone Reporting: Kevin Liao will be in the mixed zone, rubbing elbows with the athletes fresh off their races. If someone says something meme-worthy, suffice it to say that it shall be memed.

Live Blogging: Are Paul’s tweets too biting, too quick? Perhaps you enjoy the slow, detail-oriented pace of a live blog. Tune into CitiusMag.com and follow along for a longer form breakdown of that day’s events.

Daily Recaps: If you follow along with our live tweetin’/bloggin’ content, you won’t need a daily recap. But if your workplace has for some reason placed Citius behind a firewall, swing by at the end of the day to see what you missed.

Post-Meet Live Show: Here’s another reason to like our Facebook page: we’re hosting a nightly live show, complete with special guests. These guests will likely know far more about track and field than anyone on staff, so they’ll be there to recap what they saw.

Are you going to be in Sacramento? Then come to Hoppy Brewing Company and join us for our live show, enjoy discounted food and beer, and for pete’s sake enjoy the air conditioning.

And that’s all. It should be a fun time. Email us if you have any questions or concerns (citiusmag@gmail.com), otherwise we’ll see you in Sacramento.

Love,

Ryan Sterner
