Out Of The Blocks

October 5, 2022

“Believe in yourself. I got it tatted on me.”

Jasmine Todd and Katelyn Hutchison are joined by Champion Allison, a 400m specialist who was part of the Florida Gators’ NCAA Outdoor Championship winning team this past spring. He went on to finish second at the U.S. Outdoor Championships in June with a personal best of 43.70. The time puts him at No. 10 on the all-time 400m World list and No. 8 on the all-time U.S. 400m list. He signed a professional contract with Puma before finishing fourth in the 400m final at the World Championships. In this conversation, Allison discusses the power of self-belief he’s had in becoming a world-class sprinter after showing early signs of success in high school.

Over the next few episodes, Jasmine and Katelyn are exploring the transition between collegiate and professional running with some of the rising stars of the sport.
