Blog Boys Take Raleigh for Sir Walter Miler 2018

By Citius Mag Staff

August 2, 2018

If you’re in the Raleigh, North Carolina area, please be warned. CITIUS MAG is in town to catch all of the Friday night track action at the 2018 Sir Walter Miler. Blog Boys Chris Chavez, Kevin Liao, Jesse Squire and Ammar Moussa will be in town for the festivities. It’s a great meet that’s put on by Pat Price, Jeff Caron, Sandy Roberts and Logan Roberts. You can learn more about it and its history from this 2015 article that Chris wrote. There’s been 26 sub-4:00 performances by men and nine sub-4:30 performances by women in the history of the meet.

If you’re in the area, we may be looking for a few female runners if we can field a team for the Run Club Mile and 4×400 meter relay. We brought extra CITIUS MAG Track Club singlets with us. Chris will be reppin’ CMTC in the mile so please send your thoughts and prayers his way. His goal is just to not finish last. Last year, we had Ammar representing us on the track in Raleigh when he ran a sub-five Blue Jeans Mile.

There’s a pre-party at 6 p.m. at Raleigh Brewing. Races start at 8 p.m. at Meredith College, which is just across the street. After the races, the party continues at Raleigh Brewing. You’ll see the Blog Boys at those spots. If you’re not at the races, we’ll also be at the Saturday morning “Rise and Run with the Pros” at Umstead Park.

Be sure to follow us on Twitter and Instagram since we’ll be posting most of our social content on there throughout the weekend. We’ll spend some time taping podcasts that will be released soon so be sure to also subscribe on iTunes or wherever you get your podcast fix.

Check out the elite fields and the full slate of events in Raleigh this weekend.
