Grand Slam Track has confirmed Los Angeles’ Drake Stadium at UCLA as the final host of one of the weekend Slams in the professional track league’s inaugural season in 2025. The Slam will be held from June 27th to 29th.
Here’s what you need to know:
– Los Angeles was the first host city announced when the league was launched in June. No specific date and location was set until Friday’s news release.
– Drake Stadium has a seating capacity of 11,700.
– UCLA’s Drake Stadium has hosted USATF’s Los Angeles Grand Prix in the last two years. We wrote about UCLA hosting the first edition in 2023: “Depending on who you ask, there were either 7,249 people in attendance (according to USATF) or 4,500 (according to pictures) in LA.”
– Grand Slam Track’s events will take place over three days with athletes racing twice. Athletes will receive points for their finishing position in each race. The athlete with the highest points total after both events will win the Slam and the $100,000 grand prize.
