Grand Slam Track: Miami – Full Athlete Fields And Event Schedule Announced

By Chris Chavez

April 24, 2025

Grand Slam Track has unveiled the full 96-athlete field for the Miami Slam. The second stop in its inauguration season will be its American debut, and will take place at the Ansin Sports Complex May 2nd to 4th.

The league kicked off in Kingston, Jamaica, earlier this month and featured Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone (400m/400m hurdles), Kenny Bednarek (100m/200m), Melissa Jefferson-Wooden (100m/200m), and Alison Dos Santos (400m/400m hurdles) opening up the year with a sweep of their respective events to score 24 points on the weekend. Those point totals will be valuable, as the league awards an extra $100,000 to the most dominant athletes at the end of the year.

As a refresher: Athletes race two events per Slam across six event groups. Points are awarded (12-8-6-5-4-3-2-1) per place. $100,000 is awarded to each event group winner at the end of the weekend. Last/8th place still walks away from the weekend with $10,000.

Notable Signing News

– Steven Gardiner, the 2021 Olympic 400m gold medalist, has signed on to join the league as a Racer in the Men’s Long Sprint. He replaces 2024 Olympic 400m gold medalist Quincy Hall, who missed the first Slam due to injury and now appears on the start list for early season Diamond League meets in China.
